Summer Safety

At Aqualife our ethos is to teach all our swimmers in a holistic way, without the use of arm bands or body buoyancy devices as they have damaging effect on natural buoyancy and can hinder learning to swim.

However, as summer approaches I am often asked by families the best way to keep their little ones safe in and around water.

Safety and awareness are key and this Royal Life Saving Society link clearly sets out all the points that need to be considered: http://www.rlss.org.uk/water-safety/water-safety/water-safety-on-holiday/

As for buoyancy devices, they all have benefits if our child accidentally fell into the pool.

However, they are not SAFETY devices and should never be used without close supervision at all times.

Just don’t forget to take them off at times and practice your swimming lesson skills together!
